I think it's a pretty fair assessment.

Yay for cuddly ponies! And for one in particular ;)

...and to little surprise, I had the same overall result!

Not a unicorn? *ducks and gallops*

Well, I didn't look at the other results, but if you're feeling that horny, perhaps we should open a private chat somewhere ;)

*feels around his ears, finding lots of mane but no horns*

Nope, not horny. ;p

The unicorn stands for maximum self-confidence and charisma, tempered by a sense of responsibility to others. In some ways, it can seem to fit you, though I also have seen bits of self-doubt and concern that render you a little less impervious and more approachable than that would imply.

Ah well... maybe another time!

I'm not at maximum for self-confidence, that's true. I think I prefer cuddleslut anyway :) I'm anything but impervious, and quite approachable, after all!

Your result for The Attachment Style Test...

The Insect

67% Anxiety Over Abandonment and 38% Avoidance Of Intimacy

You want to be emotionally intimate with others, but you find that others are reluctant to get as close as you would like. You don't have very high self-esteem, which leaves you with a bit of a tendency to grovel. You're ever so grateful when someone notices you, but you'll leave when you sense you're not wanted. You like other people more than you like yourself, but if someone takes advantage of you, you'll leave eventually.

Seems about right...
altivo From: [info]altivo Date: July 9th, 2008 10:35 am (UTC) (Link)
I dunno. This one seems awfully extreme to me. I'd have guessed you'd be more one of the "fearful" ones rather than the "preoccupied."
schnee From: [info]schnee Date: July 9th, 2008 10:59 am (UTC) (Link)
Oh? Which one - the doormat, leper or exile? c.c (EDIT: reading the descriptions, the leper sounds like it could apply; the exile, to about 50%; the doormat, not so much [I hope].)

Mmm, you're right insofar as that "fearful" would (alas) probably be a better overall description than "preoccupied", but the description sounds mostly right. (Except for the "tendency to grovel" part; it's true that I don't exactly have a high self-esteem, but it manifests in a different fashion.) Of course, I have no idea who Peter Pettigrew is and whether he's anything like me, either, but still...

altivo From: [info]altivo Date: July 9th, 2008 11:26 am (UTC) (Link)
Peter Pettigrew is a despicable character in the Harry Potter books. He literally sold himself to the dark power in order to bolster his self-esteem but it didn't work. He has zero self-esteem but much worse than that, zero respect for the needs or feelings of others. I just can't see you in that light.

An insect is a very well-adapted automaton. Nearly everything it does is by instinct, hard-wired. It has no emotion, forms no attachments, and displays no loyalties, in part because what passes for its brain is so tiny that there is no room for much of anything in there. I can't see you in that light either.

So there.

Of the "fearful" selections, I agree with you. Doormat doesn't fit you, but the other two might at least part of the time be accurate.
schnee From: [info]schnee Date: July 9th, 2008 11:56 am (UTC) (Link)
*noddles* Mmmm. Yeah, I don't think I'm comparable to that character then, either... well, I hope. x.x

As for the insect, that's a very good point as well, but the description still strikes me as relatively accurate for the most part, although the "insect" moniker is probably inaccurate (I've got to admit I didn't even really think about what that implied, and just took it as a catchy, if somewhat less than flattering, headline for the result).

Eh. *curls up in his tail* Mrf, I feel rather like Marvin at the moment, though. >.>
altivo From: [info]altivo Date: July 9th, 2008 12:10 pm (UTC) (Link)
Marvin isn't warm and furry.

*hesitates, then takes the plunge and tries giving you ear scritches and back rubs -- if you show signs of disliking it, he can stop after all*
schnee From: [info]schnee Date: July 9th, 2008 12:18 pm (UTC) (Link)
MMMmrrr... *shows quite the opposite and un-curls, hugging you with both paws and nuzzling, closing his eyes as you scritch and rub, trying not to cry* Sorry. -.-

*chuckles*

Isn't that better than bristling over someone's IM behavior?
schnee From: [info]schnee Date: July 9th, 2008 03:00 pm (UTC) (Link)
*noddles and leans* Yes, definitely. But his behaviour isn't actually the (or a) big deal, anyway... the big deal is my inability to take care of myself, stand up for myself, and care about my own feelings instead of disregarding them. >.> I do that a lot, and it often comes up in therapy, too; so not actually giving in here is important, but at the same time, it's difficult and painful as well.

But then, it's necessary. *sighs and hugs again and hopes you won't mind, but since you're a cuddleslut according to the test...*
altivo From: [info]altivo Date: July 9th, 2008 03:14 pm (UTC) (Link)
I don't mind at all. Hugs and cuddles make me all murry inside. :)
schnee From: [info]schnee Date: July 9th, 2008 03:23 pm (UTC) (Link)
*smiles softly and nuzzles affectionately* Same for me...

Matty goodness?

Your result for The Attachment Style Test...

The Doormat

68% Anxiety Over Abandonment and 45% Avoidance Of Intimacy

You are uncomfortable getting close to others. You want emotionally close relationships, but you find it difficult to trust others completely. You don't believe you deserve very much, so you don't try very hard to win favor. You prefer to lie there until someone comes along to walk all over you. It's okay. You're used to being stepped on.

Much as I adore Eeyore, I don't think you're anywhere this extreme.

Re: Matty goodness?

Well, let's say I am a bit erratic sometimes.
I have lots of ups and downs, and my mood can change from normal to sad in a matter of minutes.

It is a bit like being manic depressive without the mania. :P

"The Hermit" (with a byootiful picture of a little crabby)
"You prefer to be alone, without strong emotional ties. You know from experience that people usually leave anyway, and that it's probably best that you don't get too attached. You prefer plenty of alone time, and have learned to entertain yourself. Part of you suspects that this is more to protect others than yourself."

Meh, I dunno. But I do know that Hiro and Kaylee are two characters towards whom I immediately and consistently felt incredibly strong protective urges. Now I just need to find a cuddleslut who doesn't like touching and I'm all set!
altivo From: [info]altivo Date: July 9th, 2008 09:22 pm (UTC) (Link)
Yup, I'd have figured you for that line on the outcomes, though I sorta didn't think you'd even take the quiz. ;p

Now lessee, "a cuddleslut who doesn't like touching" could be a tough call. Don't think I've run into one of those yet.
